PE Intent

At Ashurst we follow the National Curriculum ensuring coverage of knowledge and skills using a range of resources to aid planning and delivery. PE at Ashurst aims to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities necessary for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing in our children now and for their future.

We have implemented clear and detailed Year Group objectives showing progression of skills and knowledge throughout the school. Lessons teach self-discipline and that to be successful you must work hard, show resilience and have the determination to believe that anything can be achieved, raising aspirations for our children

 PE Home Learning.......

Please take a look at the variety of ideas below to keep your children active while home-learning.

https://www.youthsporttrust.org/pe-home-learning    This website includes activity cards available across all PE curriculum areas, with each card brought to life with a short video clip.

Home Games & Activity Ideas - In this booklet, you will find a variety of fun activities that you can do at home, inside or out, and using very little equipment. The activities can be adapted by age and skill levels. You can use your imagination to adapt the games to make them easier or harder or to use different rules or equipment. Use rolled up socks instead of balls, brush handles for lines, pillows for targets or a book instead of a racket.

Physical Activity Useful Links - In this booklet you will find an extensive list of website links, that are all free membership, to keep your children engaged in all aspects of physical activity.
